Ghana

Ghana is geographically close to the centre of the Earth and rich in lush green forest, savanna and mangroves, waterfalls, islands, rivers, hills etc. Ghana's economic plan known as 'Ghana Vision 2020' foresees Ghana as the first African country to be developed between the year 2020 and 2029 and also a new industrialized country between 2030 and 2039. It is the second largest producer of high quality cocoa in the world. Ghana has been blessed with natural hydrocarbons like sweet crude oil and natural gas, it is also the seventh largest producer of gold in the world. Other minerals which are exported are silver, timber, bauxite, manganese and diamonds. Tourism is the main source of revenue through foreign exchange. The Ghana Investment Promotion Act 1994 allows foreign investors to begin their own venture in area like natural gas, fruit and vegetable farming, hydropower projects, food processing, fish canning, pharmaceuticals, IT etc. Tourism is particularly a strong sector where government requires more input from investors for building hotels and resorts, catering, night life, leisure etc.
